The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_Panel_WirelessApplet".

Asked by Quigi

I just installed 10.04.3 LTS. When I log into an account that existed in Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS (Dapper Drake), a dialog box (with the summary of this question) pops up. It asks, "Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?" with options "Don't Delete" or "Delete".

I don't want to delete it; I'd like to know what's wrong and fix it so it works just like in a new account.

Sounds like an old config from dapper is causing issue for the new app in Lucid. If you can find the location of the config you can delete it and then relogin to get the new config created.
