item on panel disappeared

Hi
I've got a problem with kopete. When I close the window it doesn't mean that I look out but I can't get back to the window again. The icon was on the panel some time ago but I don't know what happened to it :(
Can anyone help please?

Hi Kim,

You are missing the "notification area" which Kopete minimizes to.

If you are running Gnome (regular ubuntu), you can re-add the notification area by right clicking on the panel at the top of the screen, and choosing "Add to Panel", then find "Notification Area" under the "Utilities Section".

In KDE (Kubuntu), the process is similar, but I don't use kde perhaps someone else can give you more detailed instructions on the process in KDE (though it is very similar)
