Restore of gnome panel, menu and so forth

Asked by Onno

I tried a different desktop manager (KDE) on my Ubuntu Natty install. Now I want to revert back to my old gui. I can logon using the gnome desktop manager but then my panel, menus are gone. I can get them back if I run the following command
gnome-panel &

How can I get it back permanently? Without having to run this command first?

To make it permanent, you need to add your command to Startup Applications, you can find in this link a tutorial explaining how to do that:

Can you help with this problem?
