In general, if the installation of a new program does not give you a new entry in the applications menu, the easiest way to start a program is to hit "Alt+F2", type the name of the program and hit enter.

If that does not work, click "Applications"/"Accessories"/"Terminal", and type the name of the program. Then hit enter.

I don't know the programs you are talking about, so maybe this will not work for you.

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I have tried both terminal and "Alt+F2"
but still an error like The location or the file could not be found.

Dont tell me I have specify the path now.

Ok would appreciate if any one could specify a AntiVirus & Firewall which will work and most of all will appear on the application menu.

I sure someone has the answer out there.

Thanks

Could you try running "ps aux | grep prot" and "ps aux | grep shorewall" and putting the output on here?

I don't really know much of these packages but f-prot should probably start running as soon as you've installed it.

Webmin is something that isn't really reccomended, but again should probably start running straight away. To use it you'll have to unlock the root user by running "passwd root" then you have to go to http://computer-name:10000 in a web browser and log in using "root" and the password you've just created.

I presume shorewall should run automatically too.

What does "sudo updatedb" then "locate shorewall" give you? Can you run it again but with each of the programs?

Thanks to you Dean, I got Webmin & shorewall working.
Regarding F-Prot I have requested F-Prot for technical assistance

Thanks once again
