gome crashed no desk top buttons

Are all the top panels on your windows missing?

 it was 10.10 the buttons were on the side, i was tring to install a network card and everything above thefirefox button disappeared. every command I tried to put in the terminal came back (No child can be created) I tried to reboot and it said the disk had no (auto run) yes it did. i tried to boot from the cd at start up. and I got page after page of red numbers. then i couldn't get back to the F2 set up page. so I comly walked out to the trash can and droped it in. however! last month I did have better luck with this old compaq lap top I aquired. I did get ubuntu 11.04 to run on it. For the first time i got it on the net and the flash player actualy works. If I can get the wirless to work I will have my first useable lenix. I have many question about ubuntu Wojox you can learn more about something by actualy being with some for 30 minutes than you can by reading all the directions. I would say the thing that sucks the most is the directions don't match what I'm seeing on my screen. I would say the first thing that has to change is the view of the folders. can that view be changed to list? In Libre writer where are the text boxes? How can you control all cut and past? Do you have to move every file one at a time? what state do you live in? is it raining there? whos your favorite politician? grcaughill@ya
