I'm running Lubuntu 10.10. I want to add a gnome panel for it's weather applet. It is the one I like.

Asked by oocevin

I have installed the gnome panel so now how to make it
show on my lubuntu desktop so I can add the weather.

It has the radar I like. I have tried a few, but I like the gnome
panel.

See if this does it

gksudo leafpad /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart

Look for :

@lxpanel --profile LXDE

and replace with

@gnome-panel

Leafpad pops up but with nothing in there.

I know I can install Ubuntu desktop
environment. But I wish not to add
all that. Just the gnome panel for
the ubuntu weather applet..

I run Openbox but not the full LXDE. Try looking in ~/.config/autostart

This is now being worked on in https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+question/163946. Technical information here is referenced there, so this question should probably not be marked Invalid, even though this question and question 163946 are duplicates.
