ubuntu 11.04 gnome3 power button missing

Asked by Zoran Mirosevic

Hi,
I've installed Natty Narval and since I got confused by Unity, preferred Gnome3 which I've installed. Following installation of Gnome3, I've noticed that SW Power Button isn't appearing in upper task bar any more. I've made an work around, assigning shortcut function to HW power button using it to power down the system.
Nevertheless, I'd like to have back SW Power Button.
What are options?
Is there a remedy for this bug?

Thanks in advance

I had the same issue when I first started using Gnome 3. The best remedy for now is to hold down ALT key while the menu is open, this will change "Suspend" to "Power Off..." and give you options whether to restart or shut down. Hopefully they will change this to make it simpler.

Right click on the taskbar and select Add Applet -> then select the Shutdown or Power Button to add it in the taskbar.

Mark,
Thanks!
That'll do for now.
I hope it'll be improved soon, too.
