I have disabled my desktop and can only get around with keyboard short cuts. How do I switch back?

Asked by dsaumure

I disabled the unity desktop and now I have nothing on my desktop but a background. I can get around somewhat with key board shortcuts, but it really sucks. I had this version working almost perfectly, or at least to my satisfaction, by logging out and changing the unity to classic, to the very last option on the bottom of that list! Now I can't get it to switch back regardless of the option I select. Any clues to how you do that,'cause I ain't havin much luc.....or fun.....!
thanks for your help.

"user defined " is the last choice on that list. Now I'm stuck there. It won't switch back no matter what I try?

Thanks again!

Press ALT+F2 and run:

ccsm

Enable the Unity addon and close ccsm, then press ALT+F2 and run:

compiz --replace
