GNOME panel disappeared when updating ubuntu

Asked by Anette Fausbøll

When I installed the latest Ubuntu update today, my GNOME panel which has calender, network on-line status, volume button etc. disappeared. Now it only appears when the desktop shows. I would like to have it back, or perhaps cancel the last Ubuntu update, and hope my GNOME panel will reappear. Please help.

What do you mean "when the desktop shows"? Please clarify.

Run:

gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/panel && killall gnome-panel

Should do it. It will reset them to default but will make them appear.
