no sound preferences icon

I had a sound preference icon, now i dont...how do i get it back?

Hi

If the Mail icon has gone aswell then right-click on the panel and select 'add to panel'. Now a new window should appear, from here select 'Indicator Applet'. Now the applet should be on your panel again. Also if the applet isn't in the correct position then you can move it by right-clicking on the applet then selecting move, then once you have moved it to desired position click again. Furthermore if may be useful to lock the applet in that position (right-click on panel select 'lock to panel').

I ended up upgrading and all is well. I will lock things this time so the kids cant delete them,lol. Thanks so much for the help
