multiple consoles option disappeared

Asked by Commodore Hairy

Running Ubuntu 10.10 after my latest upgrade the multiple console selection windows in the corner of the screen has disappeared. Now I can only run one screen session at a time.
I used to be able to open a screen (window or console) on the monitor eg Open Office, click another console and open another applications such as Evolution and switch back and forth with just a click of the mouse. Now I have to minimize and stay in the same console.

Try running these commands in Terminal to reset your Top & Button Bars:

gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/panel
rm -rf ~/.gconf/apps/panel
pkill gnome-panel
