xchat PM windows

Hi, i was using xchat lastnight, PM windows were popping up when ppl would msg me..i woke up this morning, n they no longer pop up, in a normal channel i just get a *nickname* followed by their msg...this isnt good :P as i dont always look in the channels, so will miss these private msg windows...can someone tell me how to do this and make them pop up as tabs once again? thanks in advance :)

In the prefrences menu (Settings -> Prefrences) there's an Interface section. select the Tabs option. at the bottom there are three drop boxes. the second one from the bottom is called "Open Dialogs in:" change it to "windows" to have a new window open with private messages and "Tabs" to have it appear in a tab.
