Hi,
Please first connect your network card to the wireless router using an ethernet cable (also known as a LAN cable).
In order to gather essential troubleshooting information about your wireless card, please follow this procedure:
Step 1: Open Terminal from "Applications-
Step 2: Please copy-paste the following command from the https:/
sudo lshw -C network; sudo iwlist scanning; cat /etc/network/
Step 3: Please post results (copy/paste terminal output) on this thread
Step 4: Please also specify the exact model and make of your PC (if known) on this thread

I will repeat the request one more time:
Please open a Terminal.
Copy-paste the following command into the Terminal:
sudo lshw -C network; sudo iwlist scanning; cat /etc/network/
Copy-paste the output from the Terminal AFTER running the whole command and paste the output in this thread.
We need to see the full Terminal output from running the above command.....
I am not providing a solution yet. I am requesting for more info using that command....
When I write: "on this thread', I mean: copy the output to this location (the current thread):
https:/

According to the output you sent, your wireless card is working correctly in Ubuntu and is using the right drivers. It has scanned and detected your wireless access point called ""Alice-76653511"
The problem could be that you have not yet set up the right wireless encryption password or encryption mode using NetworkManager.
Try disabling encryption and enabling SSID broadcasting on the wireless router to see if it helps you get a working wireless connection. If that works, then you know that the issue is with setting up an ENCRYPTED connection.

Instead of changing the title of this thread, please create a separate question for the webcam issue using this link:
https:/
The current thread is already solved and that is why the title should remain "Wifi, connection to enable with Alice modem ITALY"
Currently, this thread is of no use to users visiting this thread, because the solution is not linked to the incident title anymore.

Hi Mark,
it seems that I have same problem as many other boys on my laptop. This modell is a HP nc6320 with BCM4312 and I am trying to up a Kubuntu 10.0 LTS . I skimmed a couple of answers for this issue on site and of course I tried to do what you suggested to anothers. But unfortunately didn't work until now.
1. I connected my machine to a wired network (this mail is being written on the laptop), install b43-fwcutter, restarted the NB but it still doesn't working. The card indicator LED doesn't light although press some times. (Besides there is on this machine Windows with dual boot and the wireless card and radio button are working properly.). At last I have run your recommended checking command(s) and you can't see the result:
nbz@nbz-laptop:~$ sudo lshw -C network; sudo iwlist scanning; cat /etc/network/
