pcmcia wireless card driver not binding.

Asked by ironau

I'm using a IBM thinkpad A31p and a linsys pcmcia WPC54G v2 card. This is listed as having a native driver and it should work out of the box.

The hardware is recognized:
ironau@Alice:/$ sudo lshw -C network
<clipped working wire connetcion>
  *-network UNCLAIMED
       description: Network controller
product: ACX 111 54Mbps Wireless Interface
       vendor: Texas Instruments
       physical id: 1
       bus info: pci@0000:07:00.0
       version: 00
       width: 32 bits
       clock: 33MHz
       capabilities: pm cap_list
       configuration: latency=0
       resources: memory:d8020000-d8021fff memory:d8000000-d801ffff
But I notice there is no driver listed in the configuration section. The user community documentation doesn't have steps for what to do if the hardware is found, but no driver is being bound to the hardware upon insertion.

Does anybody have any steps I can take to get this working?

Hi Ironau,
According to some information out on the net this chip set should (and I emphasize should) be compatible however you will need the drivers. Try the sourceforge link for the appropriate acx 111 drivers.

Can you help with this problem?
