Ubuntu 9.10 installed on Dell D830

Asked by DChampnoise

I have a Dell D830 laptop and i just installed 9.10. I am having problems with getting it hooked up to my network. It comes up saying that there is no network connection but there are link lights on both my computer and the cisco switch I tried to connect too. I also tried to connect it to my Linksys router and same symptons as with the switch. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C network; ifconfig; route; cat /etc/resolv.conf

Thanks

Hi
Try deleting any connections visible in "Network Connections" then rebooting. Ubuntu should then automatically detect your network. This worked for me when I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 and lost my connection.
Hope this helps.
