Disabling internet connection on a computer running Windows.

Asked by mrJimmymathew

Hi!!!!
I will have to put this in detail. I am using Ubuntu 9.10 which has a DSL connection. The reason am using Linux is for a simple reason that I HATE WINDOWS, no matter what the version is and I simply want to stick with original software. I am from India almost 90% of the windows users have a pirated vesion. And LINUX Is AWESOME. Am also in to kind of marketing Linux too. Now here is the issue. My friend has a pirated windows machine and he doesnt have an internet connection. So to update his windows he comes to my house, unhooks the internet cable from my computer and connects to his machine and runs the update which makes me kind of pissed off. But I cannot ask him to stop doing this. Is there any way I can block the internet connection to his computer. For example if he connects his computer the MAC address is different so it doesnt get connected.

Thanks
Jim

What you could do, is determine the mac address of the network card used by your friend's computer and then use the following procedure to block network requests from that mac address:

Correction: you will need to try to determine your friend's mac address and then block his mac address by putting it in your router's firewall settings, if you have a (wireless) router.

You could run a DHCP server on your machine and configure it so it gives out an incorrect gateway address.

Can you help with this problem?
