internet sharing

I'm trying to connect my wife's computer to the internet off of my computer hers has ubunto mine doesn't, were using eth cable my internet connection is wireless. but no matter what i do it doesn't connect to internet. I want ubunto on my computer, but scared same problem is going to happen. what do i do?

also I have another computer that has ubunto and i used to have free download off internet, but now that i installed software sent in mail it wont allow my kids to do there school work.
