My Unbuntu is a PCuser clone, however it my be similar enough... Do you have a little antenna logo sitting on the taskbar near the right hand side? If so, click that and you may be offered an option to choose a `preset' script for configuring the account. [I have a `3' [aus] stick which was recognised, and just choosing `Mobile broadband connection, then 'three prepaid' , putting in my name and pin got me connected far faster then in XP].
YMMV
Hope this helps
