How to share the Internet in LAN

Asked by toptorps

I have a system which has got an internet connection as well as is connected to a LAN.
I want to share the internet to other windows usesr. Also, I want my ip to be set as 192.168.0.3..
I tried using Firestarted, but I wasnt able to configure it. Whenever I click start firewall, it says
"eth1(the lan) is not ready".
Also, when I manually configure the ip address, the network shows "Wired Network", instead of two separate connections.

Ok,

You have to think how you want to do that, You can use a PROXY Server, Or if you ONLY want to share Internet connection.

I suggest you try with Firestarter, this Firewall make you easy to share your interner connection, to install it just open a terminal Applications > Accesories > Terminal

Then type:

sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude install firestarter

When it finish, just open the Wizard application in System > Administration > Firestarter

Follow it,

Can you help with this problem?
