Your sources.list is a mess, you are mixing repositories for precise, trusty and xenial.

DISTRIB_RELEASE=16.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=xenial

Everything that refers to precise or trusty has to be changed to xenial or removed.

1. Do some clean-up

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.save
sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.distUpgrade
sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu-esm-infra-trusty.list.save
sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu-esm-infra-trusty.list.distUpgrade

2. Change the sources.list

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
in the editor window that opens search for the lines

deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu precise partner
deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu precise partner

and change them into

deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu xenial partner
deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu xenial partner

3. What is the status of your ESM subscription (for trusty)?
If you are running xenial, then you do not need it, because xenial is within standard support for another year.

In my opinion the two files
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu-esm-infra-trusty.list
/etc/apt/preferences.d/ubuntu-esm-infra-trusty
should be also removed.

Can you help with this problem?
