What is the source of the rtlwifi kernel modules?
Are those the original ones delivered with the Ubuntu kernel, or have you tried downloading and compiling then from elsewhere (e.g. from L. Finger's git)?

so the original was from the computer it didn't work then I tried installing it from github and compiling it

Apparently you are booting your computer in EFI secure boot mode.

I assume that you have two possibilities:
1. revert to the (signed) modules delivered with Ubuntu. I do not know what the problem was that this did not work for you.
or
2. continue using L. Finger's version, but then you have to disable EFI secure boot (or at least disable module signature checking).

The 1st option you mentioned doesn't work with kernels above 5.2 I will get activation of network error all the time and can you walk me through the second one?

Also if I revert to the 1st option mentioned above, how do I make it so it works for kernels above 5.2?
