Network response slow while browsing

Asked by Richard Crutchfield on 2017-11-18

The wireless connection tests out at 4ms ping, ~50 Mbps download, and ~30 Mbps via speedtest.net. However, it takes tens of seconds to load a web page. Resolving host continuously appears at status bar on browser.

If you reboot your router (leave it off for 30 seconds) does it help

No. I have tried that multiple times. :(

If you run:

echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" | sudo tee /etc/resolv.conf > /dev/null

Does the Internet speed improve? If so then we can make it stick

I tried that already after searching the knowledge base for solutions. Unfortunately it does not seem to have any impact (in a positive way) on performance.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/bcm43xx list some possible alternative drivers for the BCM4322 device.
You could give it a try.

Can you help with this problem?
