This is the output of the wireless troubleshooting steps on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WirelessTroubleshootingProcedure. My ubuntu is unable to detect the wireless adapter. I have even re installed the ubuntu but to no use. The ethernet is working ok. My laptop model is HP pavilion 13-U135TU. Ubuntu is installed on my hard disk.

You also have an unneeded module loaded, in terminal do

echo "blacklist acer_wmi" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

Reboot

You will need the 4.8 or 4.10 kernel and the firmware to get it working, the acer_wmi was causing a hard block on the wifi
