wired ethernet internet connection

Asked by Vinni L

My internet connection works just fine but I am curious because I use Hughesnet, the icon on the top bar in Ubuntu says
3M corporation 3c905 100 baseTX (Boomerang). What does this mean?

This is most likely what the network card is being detected as.
The chipset of the card must be 3c905.

You can verify by opening a terminal window (Applications menu , Accessories) and typing

lspci

Somewhere in the response will be what your network card is being seen as.
Nothing to worry about if the card is working.

Can you help with this problem?
