FAH only uses one core, suggestions?

Asked by Ray

Do not know if this is better over at the F@H site or if someone here has an idea.

Dell Vostro 1520, 4 GB memory, Intel Core 2 Duo T5470, Ubuntu 4.04 LTS FAH 7.4.4 64 bit.

I waited like a few folks suggested for F@H to cycle, but this is my third unit and it still uses only one core at 100% and the other seems to be about 20% except when I do something like check SENSORS (CPU temperatures).

XP still is still performing 2 core ops with 100% on both cores.

Project 9010 (9, 4, 36)
FahCore 0xa4

Any suggestions or try over at Stanford?

Finally found the problem. Looking more closely at the Sensors program I saw I was sitting at 90-95+ deg C on my processors. Loaded another program and found my frequency multiplier was swinging up and down. Having blown out the vents six months ago that did not seem right so I got some canned air, blasted the vents (dusty too) and my temps were 65-70 deg C. The next unit that came down grabbed both processors.

Who would have thought THAT would be an issue in Linux but not Windows?
