Wifi connection is unstable. When disconnected and trying to reconnect it even make the internet box reboot.

I recently installed Unbuntu 14.04LTS on my Thinkpad T440s.
I have problems with the wifi connection which is unstable. Usually it does not disconect from the wifi network but the internet connection freezes (page not loading for ~ 10-20 seconds then comes back to normal).
Also when the computer recovers from sleep mode it is not able to reconnect the the wifi network, and after about 1min it forces the internet box to reboot, then it works.
I have no problem with the same laptop when running on windows (dual boot).
