Wireless connection issues Acer Aspire E15 v 14.04

Asked by dan

Internet connectivity randomly disconnects. Other devices in the house are able to access it no problem. I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on an Acer Aspire E15. Diagnostic from Terminal below. Router name is PreVetPhd. Laptop is new, I removed Windows 8.1 and installed 14.04. Wireless worked on Windows with no problems.

Run the below command and reboot to test:

echo "options ath9k nohwcrypt=1" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/ath9kfix.conf > /dev/null

@actionparsnip, I ran the above code and rebooted. So far, so good. I am going to give it an hour or two and see what happens. Thanks!!!

Still happening. Worked for about 15 minutes before booting me back offline. Still works when hard-wired though.

I'll have to try that when i get back home. It was working at my in-law's house, so it may just be an issue with the zyxel router. I'll let you know!
