Lenovo g40 30 -- Wifi hardware disabled

Having tried the various suggested fixes i ran the diagnostic
this is a new Lenovo G40 30 with Ubuntu 14-10 installed
when I run all in well on the internet via a cable but wifi I cannot switch on, and I get the message wifi disabled by hardware in the menu

If your system has a switch to enable / disable wifi then press it.

You should also remove the PPA you added for Mibecraft as it doesn't support Utopic

On some machines you will need to enter the following in terminal to get wifi to work if there is no switch

sudo modprobe -r ideapad_laptop
sudo rfkill unblock all
