Wifi doesn't work

Asked by Nicolas

Hi,

I'm fairly new to this forum.

I just installed Ubuntu 14.04 and the wifi is not working. I looked at several forums, videos and can't make it work.

I have an HP pavillon 17 Notebook PC

My wireless card is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 bng Wi-Fi adappter

I attached a copy of the results from the sudo command in the wireless trouble shooting guide.

Try switching your wifi channel (in the configuration of the router) to channel 6. This will spread out the spectrum use and will help you and the person whose channel you are sharing.

I also recommend logging into the homepage of your wireless router (after connecting your wired ethernet card to the router using an ethernet cable) and force the router to use Wireless-G (54Mbps) speeds instead of Wireless-N speeds. That should help stabilize the connection.

Also test various forms of wireless encryption in the router settings....

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Nicolas for more information if necessary.
