sudo modprobe iwlwifi

Does the wifi work ok?

Andreas (andreas-mrosek) said : #2

No, dosnt work. I can load the driver, but wifi dosnt work. I have tried a USB Wifi from Belkin with a Realtek RTL8192CU Chipset, it works "out of the Box"
But the internal Wifi dosnt work

Peter Wu (lekensteyn) said : #3

I can confirm that the Intel Wireless 7260 AC NIC in a TP300LA (PCI vendor/device ID 8086 08b1, subvendor/device 8086 4c70) does not get accepted by the iwlwifi driver (using iwldvm). I tried to write these IDs to /sys/bus/pci/drivers/iwlwifi/new_id, but somehow I get EINVAL back.

Affects 3.13-ish and even the current daily 3.17.0-999.201409152205 from the kernel PPA.

Michael-aspegren (aspegren) said : #4

I can confirm that the Intel Wireless 7260 AC NIC in a TP300LA do not work in Ubuntu/Mint with iwlwifi backports.

Peter Wu (lekensteyn) said : #5

Apply this patch to make it work, it will end up in Linux 3.17 and get backported to 3.10+
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/iwlwifi/iwlwifi-next.git/commit/?h=for-john&id=bfc8f5a4060ecf099aca71de271b17a64079585c

Andreas (andreas-mrosek) said : #6

How can i apply?

Michael-aspegren (aspegren) said : #7

I added this 4 lnes in ~/xxx/backports-20140905 $ sudo gedit drivers/net/wireless/iwlwifi/pcie/drv.c
