Is it a USB wifi device?

You are running on the original kernel which was shipped with Ubuntu 12.04. It does not suppport newer hardware. To solve this issue Ubuntu offers to run a new kernel version taken from newer Ubuntu releases. You can install it by running this command in the Terminal:

sudo apt-get install linux-image-generic-lts-trusty

Then reboot your machine!

Your Terminal output shows your wireless USB adapter here:

Bus 003 Device 006: ID 0bda:819a Realtek Semiconductor Corp.

According to this link:

https://wikidevi.com/wiki/User:X64/Linux_kernel_wireless_device_support

your wireless device is supported by kernel module rtl8192cu

USB_0bda_819a v3.9 2013-04-29 Realtek rtl8192cu

However, your Terminal output shows the following issue:

#blacklist rtl8192cu
## This file ships with the rtl8192-fixes DKMS module.
blacklist rtl8192cu
blacklist rtl8192c_common

So you blacklisted the kernel module rtl8192cu which makes your USB adapter work.

You need to undo the blacklisting of kernel module rtl8192cu

Then reboot your PC. Retry using your wireless connection and then resend the full output of this Terminal command:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install hwinfo grep rfkill; sudo lshw -C network; rfkill list; sudo iwlist scan | egrep -i 'chan|ssid'; cat /etc/network/interfaces; cat /etc/lsb-release; lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 net; lsusb; nmcli nm status; sudo lshw -short; uname -a; sudo updatedb; dmesg | egrep '02:00|80211|acx|at76|ath|b43|bcm|brcm|CX|eth|ipw|ireless|irmware|isl|lbtf|orinoco|ndiswrapper|NPE|ound|p54|prism|rror|rtl|RTL|rt2|RT2|rt3|RT3|rt5|RT5|rt6|RT6|rt7|RT7|usb|witch|wl';sudo dmidecode|egrep 'anufact|roduct|erial|elease'; iwconfig; cat /etc/modprobe.d/* | egrep '80211|acx|at76|ath|b43|bcm|brcm|CX|eth|ipw|irmware|isl|lbtf|orinoco|ndiswrapper|NPE|p54|prism|rtl|rt2|rt3|rt6|rt7|wmi|witch|wl'; cat /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state; sudo hwinfo --netcard ; ps -aux|egrep 'wpa|icd|etwork'; netstat -rn ; cat /etc/resolv.conf; ls -lia /boot; grep tmpfs /etc/fstab; ubuntu-support-status; sudo lsmod

So we absolutely need to see all the Terminal output WHILE using kernel module rtl8192cu

We cannot analyze the behavior of your wireless adapter if you keep the module disabled.

The new Terminal output (with rtl8192cu active) will help us decide which measures to take to stabilize your wireless connection.....

I suppose you will also need to undo the blacklisting of kernel module rtl8192c_common as well....

@actionparsnip (andrew-woodhead666)
This is not an external USB Wifi device.
It is encased with my motherboard.

@Thomas Krüger (thkrueger)
I am currently not running kernel that was shipped with Ubuntu 12.04
//=============
// uname -a output
//=============
"Linux ctc 3.10.12-031012-generic #201309141044 SMP Sat Sep 14 14:45:24 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux"
I'm Running kernel 3.10.12.

@Mark Rijckenberg
Realized is missed /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-native-rtl8192.conf list.
I commented them out of the blacklist and rebooting.
Be back with the output after reboot.

You followed this procedure:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WirelessTroubleshootingProcedure

The solution to your issue is probably in the "Best practices" section of that procedure:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WirelessTroubleshootingProcedure#Best_practices_when_configuring_your_wireless_router_to_obtain_maximum_compatibility_with_Ubuntu

I'll explain.

Your Terminal output shows at least two separate issues:

1)

                    Channel:6
                    Frequency:2.437 GHz (Channel 6)
                    ESSID:"TSAP"
                    Channel:1
                    Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
                    ESSID:"TSGUEST"
                    Channel:1
                    Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
                    ESSID:"TSGUEST"
                    Channel:1
                    Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
                    ESSID:"TSAP"
                    Channel:1
                    Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
                    ESSID:"TSAP"
                    Channel:6
                    Frequency:2.437 GHz (Channel 6)
                    ESSID:"TSGUEST"
                    Channel:11
                    Frequency:2.462 GHz (Channel 11)
                    ESSID:"CurexoAP1"
                    Channel:11
                    Frequency:2.462 GHz (Channel 11)
                    ESSID:"John"

In order to avoid wireless interference from the other wireless access points, I suggest changing the wireless transmission channel to channel 3.

2)

wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:"TSAP"
          Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412 GHz Access Point: DC:9F:DB:1C:DF:44
          Bit Rate=72.2 Mb/s Tx-Power=20 dBm
          Retry long limit:7 RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr:off
          Power Management:off
          Link Quality=60/70 Signal level=-50 dBm
          Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:46 Missed beacon:0

Your wireless transmission speed of 72.2 Mb/s is too high and probably causing the stability issues. Please log into the webpage of your wireless router and force the router to use Wireless-G (54 Mb/s) speeds.

Both these suggestions are in the wireless troubleshooting procedure that you followed.

Thanks everyone for responses and especially @Mark Rijckenberg (markrijckenberg) for all the suggestions.

The wireless has been stable and it was because of certain factors specific to my situation.

1)I have about 3 same computer units running, and I had configured the two of the computers by putting the hard drive image of the first computer to avoid having to configure the other two to my needs.
2) Turns out that the DHCP server was getting confused because of the same computer name that was showing up.
As a result, under Network Manager, in IPv4 settings, I put in different names in "DHCP client ID" for the computers and the connection stabilized.

One caveat...the computers were not having this issue when they were connected to ethernet. Seems like the real issue is arising between the wireless AP and DHCP server handoff. I don't have admin access to our network so cannot troubleshoot any more, but my issue is resolved for the time being.

I did notify our IT admin that it would be better to separate the wireless channels of our wireless APs just for general good practice.
