Constant disconnects from WPA2 networks, kubuntu 14.04
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, as it seems to relate to gnome-nettool and I'm using kubuntu 14.04 64bit, but I'm gonna try anyways.
I've been following the ubuntu wireless troubleshooting guide because since my upgrade to 14.04 I have had issues with all wpa2 encoded wifi networks. I can connect to them (sometimes, about 1 time out of 3) but the connection drops within a few minutes usually. If I'm lucky I get an hour.
Once the connection drops the networkmanager will claim that there are no wifi networks whatsoever out there and only disabling the wifi networks and reenabling them will make those networks reappear. I did connect yesterday to an unencoded network and that held the connection just fine.
I've tried using wicd instead of the default manager but the problem remains the same. So in the end it seems to be a more fundamental issue, not just one of the networkmanager.
My phone is connecting to the same network (iacext in this case) and has no problem holding the connection. The machine is a duabloot between win8 and kubuntu. With Win8 the connection is also fine, no disconnects.
