Ubuntu wifi connections problems

Inspiron n5040. Ubuntu 12.04 installed using ethernet connection. Ubuntu finds my wireless network but won't connect. the password is correct but won't let me connect. Wireless driver chipset is Qualcom Atheros ar9285. I've attempted installing ndsi wrapper. I'm confused because the network is recognized but i cant connect.

I need some help figuring out what I'm doing wrong. Here is this, I hope it helps. Thanks for all your effort.

The authentication to the router is failing. This is- in most cases, caused by bad credentials (password) or a bug on the client or router side. I tried to look up the MAC address of the router/AP to find out the type of device, but it was not listed. That is rather rare.
What type of device is it you are trying to connect to?

So please set wireless encryption on the router to WPA+AES.

Then reboot the wireless router.

Then reboot your PC and retest wireless.
