You need to install the firmware. From a wired connection, run:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree
Your Broadcom 4311 wireless should then start working, reboot if necessary.

HI,

It looks it's going to sound stupid but, for startup don't hang, i've to do one of two things, or I switch off wireless or create a dummy wireless connection. May be a wireless timeout ?

Do you have a explanition for this?

Thanks for help.

Nuno

Since doing nothing except adding the firmware should just work, I'd guess that some leftover configuration items from other fix attempts may be causing problems. Look at /etc/modules and ensure no b43 or wl is there. Look in /etc/modprobe.d and no file should contain a "blacklist b43" line. blacklist wl should not hurt anything, but wl does not even get installed unless you manually did it. Look in /etc/rc.local, should not be anything relating to b43 or wl. There are other possibilities for Broadcom drivers, but wl is the most likely additional driver causing problems.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Nuno Cansado for more information if necessary.
