Hi,
Please first connect your wired network adapter to the wireless router using an ethernet cable (also known as a LAN cable).
In order to gather essential troubleshooting information about your wireless card, please follow this procedure:
Step 1:
If you are using the Gnome interface, open the Terminal console via "Applications-
If you are using the Unity interface, the easiest way to open the Terminal is to use the 'search' function on the dash. Or you can click on the 'More Apps' button, click on the 'See more results' by the installed section, and find it in that list of applications. A third way, available after you click on the 'More Apps' button, is to go to the search bar, and see that the far right end of it says 'All Applications'. You then click on that, and you'll see the full list. Then you can go to Accessories > Terminal after that.
The methods in Unity are:
Press Control-ALT-T key combination.
Dash > Search for Terminal
Dash > More Apps > 'See More Results' > Terminal
Dash > More Apps > Accessories > Terminal
Step 2: Please copy-paste the following command from https:/
Tip: If you have a wheel mouse or 3 button mouse you do not need to type commands into the Terminal. Highlight the command written on the page. Move your cursor anywhere in the Terminal and press the wheel or middle button. Automatic Copy and paste! No spelling mistakes! No Typos! No other errors!
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install hwinfo grep rfkill; sudo lshw -C network; rfkill list; sudo iwlist scan | egrep -i 'chan|ssid'; cat /etc/network/
Step 3: Please post results (copy/paste terminal output) on this thread. The troubleshooters here need to see the full Terminal output from running the above command.
Step 4: Please also mention the exact model and make of your PC (if possible).
Regards,
Mark

Please first disconnect the Belkin USB Wireless Adaptor from your PC, except if you need it as a replacement for a wired connection.
You are using the wrong drivers for your Broadcom wireless adapter. You need to use the b43 driver instead of the wl driver.
Please run the following commands in a Terminal using a working, WIRED Internet connection:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get remove --purge bcmwl-kernel-source
sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-
sudo apt-get install firmware-
Then reboot and retest wireless.

Solution is also described here:

What is the output of:
sudo lshw -C network

The following output shows the same issue again:
# wl module from Broadcom conflicts with ssb
blacklist b43legacy
blacklist b43
blacklist brcm80211
blacklist brcmsmac
install wl /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install wl $CMDLINE_OPTS
# /etc/modprobe.
# iwlwifi will dyamically load either iwldvm or iwlmvm depending on the
# microcode file installed on the system. When removing iwlwifi, first
# remove the iwl?vm module and then iwlwifi.
remove iwlwifi \
(/sbin/lsmod | grep -o -e ^iwlmvm -e ^iwldvm -e ^iwlwifi | xargs /sbin/rmmod) \
&& /sbin/modprobe -r mac80211
So you are still not using the right driver, which is the b43 driver. Now you are using the bcma driver and not b43.
You are using the wrong drivers for your Broadcom wireless adapter. You need to use the b43 driver instead of the bcma and wl drivers.
So you will need to manually navigate into the /etc/modprobe.d/ directory and manually inspect every configuration file in that directory.
Make sure to blacklist the wl and bcma drivers by adding these configuration lines in the blacklist.conf file:
blacklist wl
blacklist bmca
Remove the following configuration lines which are in one or more of the configuration files in /etc/modprobe.d/ :
blacklist b43legacy
blacklist b43
You need to REMOVE the blacklisting of b43 or else b43 can never start working.
Then reboot and retest wireless.
I really cannot be clearer than this....

You will also need to remove the following configuration line which is located in one or more of the configuration files in /etc/modprobe.d/ :
install wl /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install wl $CMDLINE_OPTS

I deleted what you told me to and my wifi is working.
I have little experience in Linux, much obliged. (first install)
