Do you dual boot the system?

The system is not dual boot. Previously the system was dual boot. The previous version was Ubuntu 11.10 I believe. It's Town of Brooklyn's computer used by the clerk who is a friend. The wireless was working with that version of Ubuntu but abruptly stopped working. She has been using the computer on a hardwire connection since then. She thought she might of messed some things up as she learned Ubuntu. Yesterday we installed 12.10 on the whole disk not thinking to test the wireless card with Windows before we did it.

Thanks
Dale

If you check in BIOS, is the wifi enabled?
If you have a switch to turn the wifi of and on,switch it on.

The wifi switch is on enabled.
The BIOS I had not checked. It turns out that she put a password on the BIOS and now doesn't know it. So maybe that is the problem and there isn't much we can do. If I understand correctly, if the password is lost the mother board pretty much needs to be replaced.

Thank you very much for your time.
Dale
