I have installed the ndisgtk package us shown here: https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/internet/C/troubleshooting-wireless.html#troubleshooting-wireless-device

I have loaded the .sys file. It gave me an error saying that ndiswrapper was not installed (but it is). But in the end I have the info on the GUI windows driver that RT2860 is loaded.

Rebooted.

But no wirless active.

iwconfig command gives me

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

Hello ,

please remove completely ndiswrapper with bellow commands

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
sudo modprobe -rf ndiswrapper
sudo apt-get remove --purge ndiswrapper-common ndiswrapper-utils-1.9 ndisgtk
sudo rm /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper.conf
sudo rm -r /etc/ndiswrapper/*
sudo depmod -a
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Then check the file /etc/modpobe.d/blacklist.conf

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If any line refers to "blacklist rt2800pci" or "rt2800pci" exits , REMOVE it.

Or if you want give here the results of
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Then add to /etc/modules the rt2800pci

++++++++++++++++++++++++++
gksudo gedit /etc/modules
++++++++++++++++++++++++++

and add the module name : rt2800pci
save the document and reboot your pc , With-Out Ethernet plugged.

Thanks
