i was running 11.10 and i could connect wirelessly to the internet but i decided to fresh installed 12.04 and now i cant connect... when i want to connect it says "wireless is disabled by hardware switch."
i ran the wirekess troubleshooting proceedure and i got this:

I suggest you install wicd and uninstall network manager then reboot. The device is seen as eth2 and network manager isn't very flexible. After the reboot you can tell wicd the correct device name to use and be ok.
