Wireless connection gets lost after a short while

Asked by Göktuğ Kayaalp

I have used both oneiric and precise. When I boot the laptop (HP Compaq Presario CQ62), it boots up with the wireless internet available, but after a couple of minutes, the connection goes away. Using MS Win 7 currently, I have no problems with wireless. Last week I had Fedora and I didn't have any problem (removed it after a wrongly configured kernel). Please help, thx..

Hey G, put your Live CD/USB back in and reboot into Ubuntu and run this commands to see what wireless card/chip you have:

lspci | grep -i net

02:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8191SEvA Wireless LAN Controller (rev 10)
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller (rev 02)

This is the output. And, I'm installing the precise while typing these lines. I wish I can come over this wireless thing. And as a note, wireless is gone again, a couple of minutes after boot.

Have installed Ubuntu, and surprisingly have no issues. I wonder if it was because I couldn't get connected and download updates in the past installations. (I didn't have an Ethernet cable of my own to keep connected while all of the updates were fetched, slow connection..)
