Neither wireless nor wired network connections working

Dell Inspiron 1318.

0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY [14e4:4315] (rev 01)
Brand new to linux and cant get any of the connections to work. Running with dual systems, Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 Lts.
