Touchpad and wifi issues on 12.04

Last night, I upgraded my Acer laptop from 11.10 to 12.04. This evening, I cannot get the touchpad to respond and the network utility states that it does not support the hardware. Are there any trouble shooting tips? Is this an issue in 12.04, and if 12.04 doesn't support my laptop, where can I get 11.10? I'm hoping I don't have to format the hard drive, but if thats what it takes, then so be it. Just hoping that my laptop is still supported
