USB Modem wont work on Ubuntu 12.04

Asked by JJ Coetzee

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 and can no longer use my mobile internet modem. Its an Alcatel USB modem. It worked fine with Ubuntu 11.04, but 12.04 doesnt recognise it as a modem... sees it as a mass storage device.
