How do i change the network manager ifupdown, keyfile to managed = true

Asked by Mat H

Hi i'm trying to change the network manager ifupdown, keyfile managed=true
When i first tried to it with root sudo -i I was able just to change the word but it refused to save as save as was offered but was blocked . I would like to be able to change files in the system without being hindered what is the easiest way to do this ?
I've just re-installed the OS Maverick 64bit and noticed that the modem started up mentioning mobile phone things in Daemon list ! then there was strange changes occuring with my network settings automatically after first use-- i have an Amilo 1718i comp with Atheros AR242+ Realtek 8139 pci card and my wireless network is refusing to connect and i'm certain it is to do with the network manager.

Hope you can help.

Hi my bro is a comp programmer and has just fixed my problem it turns out that with my other PC desktop with a rubbish windows
OS it can accept non Ascii character passwords (preset) in the router and itself. My Linux Maverick 10.10 Operating system can only accept standard Ascii Characters as mentioned in wiki table (if you google it) for passwords !! Now my password works on both machines again i'm so so pleased. Was thinking i had to go and get a USB wireless network dongle and try that - but my bro tested my hardware which turned out to be OK. Have literally wasted days and evenings trying to sort it out - i've installed different Linux OS's and reinstalling the one i knew worked first time wirelessly - Maverick 10.10 but never realised it could be a password character refusal. (Am waiting to hear reviews about the next Ubuntu--LTS in April or May 2012).

Have learnt a lot hope i can help someone else out with this info.

Good luck.
