DISABLED Wireless Network controller: Ralink corp. RT3090 Wireless 802.11n 1T/1R PCIe not working anymore on MSI CR620 Laptop in Ubuntu 11.10

Hy everyone .

        I had problems with wireless before so I've installed the latest version of ubuntu . It worked great for almoust a week and now it's just not working , It appears that "Wireless networks device not ready " .
        On windows I have a lot of available networks but on Ubuntu it doesn't finds them anymore even that it was working a few days ago .
I have a MSI CR620 Laptop .
I hope that someone can help me . Thanks in advance .

do you have a switch or shortcut to enable wireless? If so, press it then retry connecting.
As you dual boot, Windows may be locking the hardware so be sure in device manager to disable power management on the device as well as uncheck the box to make the hardware wake the OS up.

OK .. so the thing with power management solved my problem . I dont understand why the driver was locked since I was using the switch to turn it on but .. It works and that's all that matters . Thanks a lot man . I owe you twice since you also helped me to make the wireless of a friend's laptop to work .

Its windows locking the hardware. its one of the possible pitfalls of dualboot. Junky windows basically
