network-manager-gnome 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu6 Not working

Hello I need help in somebody duplicating this problem. I have network-manager-gnome 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu6 that is not working
But I have no problem connecting from XP machine I have 54MB Wireless LAN and 1.5MB DSL line and XP machine downloads at 1.6MB but Ubuntu 11.10 downloads at 8kbytesto 20kbytes
Does anybody else have this problem on wireless network connection ? How do I speed up my network connection ?

The problem is fixed by using a Wired Connection instead of wireless connection. It seems that IBM Thinkpad Lenovo has intel Wireless chipset that does not quite work well with Linux drivers for ubuntu 11.04 or 11.10.
There is no problem with Ubuntu driver and Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG Network Chipset
