DISABLED Wireless Network controller [0280]: RaLink RT3090 Wireless 802.11n 1T/1R PCIe [1814:3090] not working on Asus Eee PC 1001HA in Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS

Asked by Pogo

I have an Asus Eee PC 1001 HA which can't see its wireless network. I have installed 10.04 and run it dual boot with WXP. I know that the hardware is ok as it works under WXP.
Here is the output from the terminal:

I suggest testing wireless using a LiveCD session in Ubuntu 11.10 (using the newer rt2800pci wireless driver).

Sorry for the delay, Mark. Christmas and all...

Yes, that got me connected. Thanks.

11.10 isn't a good fit on the netbook screen, and my touch pad stopped working as soon as I connected the wireless net, but it did connect.

Can this wireless driver be installed in the 10.04 NBR?

Any thoughts on the touchpad?

Cheers;

Pogo.

Downloaded some updates, rebooted, Touchpad now works!

Now, if this wireless driver can be used with the 10.04 NBR, it will be perfect. ;-)

Thanks again for your help, Mark.

Pogo.
