Huawei E160E HSDPA usb stick mobile broadband

Get perfect connection with Windows Vista but can't get it to work in Ubuntu 11.04
Ran isusb with following answer:

Notice the device as E220 or e270

Can anybody help me any further.

connect it to PC and go to network settings. select mobile broadband and select the device in the drop down. select the country and operator and you are done.

The above advise has been tried x times with no success .
eject/dev/sr1 , remove USB and then create new account works some times so that the usb is detected by network . Have removed pin lock from sim card . For some reason the usb stick blocks the whole computer.
Don't worry , we will get it going.
