my server keeps timing out, or it works fine. confusing me. checked modem and router.

My internet service is working fine one minute, and the next it wont even pull up a web page, checked modem and router. I have a compaq presario laptop. what is the problem?

There is not enough information in your problem report for anyone to usefully comment. You will need to dig more. Does wired/wireless make a difference? Does this occur on multiple computers in your house? have you changed any network settings or devices recently? You will need to narrow the problem down to a specific unreliable component or feature in your network. It could even be your ISP.
