Get HP HS2340 HSPA+ mobile broadband to work with ubuntu 11

Has anyone managed to get the HP HS2340 HSPA+ mobile broadband to work with ubuntu 11.
I am using a HP 2560p Elitebook that comes with the above internal mobile broadband but was not able to get it to work with
network manager. Had read that this is a known bug, is it true ? Appreciate any help.
