cannot connect to wireless after upgrade to 11.10

Asked by Abraham Hawkins

I upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10 on an ASUS-U56E netbook. After the upgrade the wireless can no longer connect. I can see wireless networks, but when attempting to connect it just times out and asks for the password again.

I have tried blacklisting the asus_wmi. I have tried adding options iwlagn 11n_disable=1 11n_disable50=1 and/or options iwlagn 11n_disable=1 to the options.conf file. And I have found no other solutions to try yet.

Here is some basic information, please tell me if more is needed.

I've read on a couple posts that the last kernel that this wireless card worked with was 2.6.38. But I have not tried it myself.

If this is not the place for this question, where can I direct it?
